League rivals await Albion in FA Cup
KENDAL Town will provide the opposition for Witton in the FA Cup’s second qualifying round.
Albion’s Evo-Stik Northern Premier League top tier rivals needed extra time to end lower-ranked Dunston UTS’ resistance in a replay last night, Tuesday, when they eventually ran out 4-2 victors.
Brian Pritchard’s men travel to Cumbria on Saturday week, September 22, when a £4,500 prize is an incentive for the victor.
The winner will also move to within two wins of the first round proper.
FA Vase holders Dunston led twice at Parkside Road, Kevin Leadbetter’s penalty earning Lee Ashcroft’s men an added half hour to break the visitors’ resistance.
They did, Alex Randell’s deflected free kick and Scott Harries’ second goal of the night sealing victory for the hosts.
