Match pointers

WITTON Albion will hope to extend a seven-matches unbeaten run on their travels – dating back to November – when they travel to Bamber Bridge this weekend.

Brian Pritchard’s men have lost only one of their past nine games in Evo-Stik NPL Division One North, leaving them seven points adrift of pacesetters AFC Fylde.

Anthony Gardner and Josh Hancock will be pushing for recalls after they were given extra time to recover from slight knocks when Witton won at Clitheroe in midweek.

Matthew Woolley and Chris Gahgan filled in.

Hosts Bamber Bridge are without a league win in six attempts, losing on four of those occasions, so are out of sorts.

They improved to lose only 3-2 at Farsley on Tuesday, but face Witton without suspended striker Ryan Salmon who still has two matches left of a ban.

Newcomers Michael Clark, a former Fylde midfielder, and striker Bradley Carsley both made their debut at Throstle Nest in midweek so standy by to make first start at home.
