Match pointers
WITTON Albion can close to within three points of the Division One North summit if they complete a league double over Prescot Cables tonight, Wednesday.
After five successive wins in all competitions, they can be confident.
Manager Brian Pritchard has everybody available too, save for injured Josh Glover (two), with Chris Gahgan expected to have recovered from illness.
Albion have shown a ruthlessness in despatching teams in the table’s lower reaches in recent weeks, a trait that has helped them to win close encounters against Mossley and Wakefield in their past two home games.
Visitors Prescot play for the first time with new manager Shaun Reid, brother of former Manchester City boss Peter, in the dugout.
He won’t be able to call upon Liam Hollett, banned as a punishment for his dismissal when these two teams met last month.
Full back Sam Coulter is a long-term injury absentee too.
Cables have failed to shut out the opposition in every league match they have played this term, although they have lost only one of their past four matches on the road.
