Match pointers
WITTON Albion will be favourites to extend Wakefield’s winless sequence in Division One North – currently 19 matches – at the Help for Heroes Stadium tomorrow, Saturday.

Brian Pritchard’s men ended their own wait for a maximum points haul in front of their own fans in last weekend’s 2-1 win against Mossley, climbing to fourth place in the table.

Carl Clampitt and Oliver James are expected to be available after overcoming calf and ankle injuries respectively.

It leaves the manager with a selection headache of sorts, particularly in attack, where Chris Gahgan challenges Liam Newman for a starting place alongside top scorer Alex Titchiner.

The visitors, without a win since August, have slipped into the relegation zone after reverting to amateur status.

They have yet to score a point under new boss Paul Lines either, losing each of their past seven league matches.

Goalkeeper Danny Trueman is suspended, so Stephen Kerr stands by to play, while Darren Thornton (ankle) is an injury doubt after limping out of last Saturday’s 2-1 reverse at Woodley Sports.
