Match pointers
WITTON Albion bid to become the first team to beat table-toppers Curzon Ashton on their own pitch in a league encounter this season tomorrow, Saturday.
The Division One North leaders have won seven of their nine encounters in front of their own fans, helping them to the standings’ summit.
Northwich-based Graham Kay sat out last week’s draw at Lancaster City through injury, but hopes to be fit in time to face Albion.
Andrew Heald is banned, but striker Chris McDonagh and midfield man Jordan Goodeve return from suspension.
Witton will be motivated to avoid a repeat of last weekend’s embarrassing home defeat against rock-bottom Cammell Laird, when the visitors won on the road for the first time this term.
Albion have not kept a clean sheet away from the Help for Heroes Stadium in a league encounter since shutting out Wakefield back in August, a sequence of seven matches.
They have scored every time they have travelled though with one exception; a 1-0 reverse at Farsley last month.
Manager Brian Pritchard could be tempted to use newcomer Chris Gahgan from the start following his goalscoring cameo from the substitutes bench last Saturday.
Liam Newman (shin) is definitely out injured along with midfield anchor Oliver James (calf).
