CHORLEY continue to lead the way despite not kicking a ball on Saturday as they were without a fixture, writes Phil Bradley.

Garry Flitcroft’s men added four more to their 12-goals tally in a Bank Holiday Monday cruise at the expense of Radcliffe Borough to maintain their perfect record.

The other team to boast an unblemished start are Bamber Bridge, but they have only played two league matches.

Elsewhere Skelmersdale United saw their perfect beginning cut short in a draw at Clitheroe, who now share second spot with Trafford.

Improving AFC Fylde put five goals past Harrogate Railway Athletic on Saturday, while debutant Dan Shannon was on target in Curzon Ashton’s win over Witton Albion.

Chester FC recorded their first competitive win as a new club at Wakefield, while Griff Jones’ last-minute leveller helped Radcliffe avoid defeat at home to Salford City At the bottom of the table, no fewer than seven clubs are still searching for a first win but Ossett Albion, Mossley, Garforth Town have at least bagged their first point.

Leigh Genesis have lost all four matches.
