Match Pointers
WITTON Albion kick off their FA Cup campaign at Evo-Stik League Division One North rivals Mossley tomorrow, Saturday.
Paul Ogden’s men are unbeaten after their opening league matches, rescuing a point at promotion hopefuls AFC Fylde in midweek thanks to Brian Pritchard’s 50th goal for the club four minutes from time.
A £1,500 prize is up for grabs for the winners too.
The Witton boss is unlikely to be able to call upon teenage defender Ben Harrison, who is due to play a half for Albion’s second string tonight, as he continues to recover from an injury picked up in pre-season.
Carl Frost (calf) is out too.
Scott Moffatt (thigh) was sidelined by a thigh strain for Tuesday’s trip to Fylde, but Ogden expects him to be available tomorrow.
Hosts Mossley have endured a miserable start to the campaign, failing to score in two defeats against Bamber Bridge and Clitheroe respectively.
They lost 5-0 against the latter following Ben Richardson’s first half dismissal.
Former Middlewich Town captain Graham Kay is yet to feature this term through injury but Andy Watson should return after sitting out the midweek encounter.
That may allow Aaron Chalmers to move back to a central midfield berth.
