Match Pointers
PAUL Ogden’s reign as Witton manager starts with a first competitive meeting against Garforth Town.

And the Albion boss is faced with genuine dilemmas over who to pick in key positions on the field.

Matt Cooper is likely to get the nod in goal, while teenager Ben Harrison – providing he shakes off an injury – competes with Brian Pritchard for a place alongside captain Ian Kearney in defence.

The biggest battle for a starting shirt is in the centre of the pitch.

Dave MacPherson sat out last weekend’s friendly against Shepshed Dynamo but is expected to start, leaving Adam Foy, newcomer Christian Millar and Phil Parkinson fight for a place alongside him.

Matthew Holt should return at full back, meaning Danny Warner can back to the left and Matt Wood push forward to the left of midfield.

Andy Kinsey is certain to start as Witton’s front-runner, with Josh Hancock and Chris Smith the alternatives as his partner.

Visitors Garforth, under the stewardship of new management pair manager Steve Nichol and Richard Sutherland, are hoping for a better term than last time when they hovered above the relegation zone.

Midfielder Oliver Hotchkiss, from Blue Square Bet Premier play-offs hopefuls Mansfield Town, is their most eye-catching addition over the summer.
