Mickleover Sports beat Witton Albion to open up 13 points lead


LEADERS Mickleover Sports continued on their merry way to the title when they beat Witton Albion.

It is their 16th successive victory, leaving them 13 points clear of three clubs.

There is a traffic jam behind the pacesetters, with no fewer than seven clubs within four points of one another in the race for a play-offs place.

Chasetown stay fifth after winning at Carlton Town, whose own hopes of extending their season took a blow.

Leek Town protected their unbeaten home record after beating midtable Cammell Laird, moving them into the thick of things just two points further back.

Belper Town have failed to win any of their past half dozen league matches, but still remain only a win away from a top five place.

They lost at Stamford in a dress rehearsal of the UniBond League’s President’s Cup final.

At the opposite end of the talbe bottom club Willenhall Town picked up a rare home point after holding Lincoln United, but made no ground up on Spalding United after they drew at Quorn.

Russell Peel’s stoppage time leveller denied the Tulips a first away win.
