ON a saturated surface it was the visitors who showed fleetness of foot to exact revenge for a hammering they’d taken at the season’s start.

For Witton Albion, that 6-0 success feels a lifetime ago.

Their guests took the lead in the 13th minute when leading scorer Rob Doran took full advantage of woeful attempts to stop his run forward through the middle, planting the ball past goalkeeper Andy Firth.

Albion were back on level terms just three minutes later when Jamie Menagh’s low shot squirmed inside an upright after taking a deflection en route.

But points were secure for Andy Paxton’s men eight minutes after the interval when Joe Nicholson again profited from the home team’s midfield not tracking his run.

He went on to produce the neatest of flicks to make it 2-1.

Michael Wilson was guilty of a glaring miss with the goal at his mercy, and with that Witton succumbed to a sixth straight league defeat.
