Match pointers
WITTON, buoyed by Tuesday’s victory against Nantwich, host the Premier Division’s best travellers tomorrow, Saturday.

Title favourites Chorley have won more matches, picking up most points, on the road than any other team this term.

Garry Flitcroft’s men have conceded fewest goals too; just a dozen in 16 away matches.

Albion are unbeaten at Wincham Park in the league since the turn of the year, winning two of three games, though they haven’t shut out guests there since beating lowly Stafford Rangers 5-0 in October – a sequence of seven games.

Brian Pritchard has club captain Anthony Sheehan available again after injury, though the midfielder does not yet have 90 minutes in his legs. Cliff Moyo (hamstring) and Dave Walker (hernia) are both ruled out though.

Chorley have picked up a single point from their past two matches, succumbing to Rushall Olympic in midweek when former Witton full back Mathew Wood scored the decisive goal.

However the Magpies are unbeaten in nine trips to play teams in the table’s bottom half, winning five of those while failing to score only once.

They have hit the net in every away game since losing 1-0 at promotion rivals Skelmersdale United on September 17, a run of 11 matches.

Other than Buxton, encounters involving Chorley as visitors feature the fewest goals – 44 – in the section.

Midfield anchor Tom Baker (knee) and attacker Josh Hine (hernia) are long-term injury absentees.
