Match pointers
WITTON Albion attempt to end a nine-match sequence without an away win in the Premier Division when they visit fellow strugglers Stamford later today, Saturday.

Brian Pritchard’s men haven’t beaten any host on their own pitch since a 3-2 win at Worksop Town in October – one of only two maximum points hauls on the road in 15 trips to date.

He will be forced to make at least one change to the side that started a 4-2 defeat at Blyth Spartans a fortnight ago, with defender Rob Bodie ruled out by suspension.

Midfielder Anthony Sheehan is available though for the first time since fracturing a knee cap on Bonfire Night.

After a single success in their past 10 league games, Witton continue to occupy a place in the relegation zone.

Stamford are unbeaten in their past four home matches, winning three of those – their longest sequence without defeat at the Vic Couzens Stadium this term.

The Daniels’ current form is the best of any team in the table’s bottom 10, picking up 11 points from their past half dozen Premier Division games.

That said, only Worksop outside of the standings’ lowest three sides have conceded more goals on home turf.

Captain and defensive lynchpin Richard Jones serves a ban, as does striker Jordan Smith.

Will Jones is expected to deputise again between the posts for Alex Lynch, though the on-loan custodian is closer to full fitness after recovering from injury.
