WITTON face one of their most daunting trips of the campaign to date when they travel north to take on in-form Blyth Spartans tomorrow, Saturday.
Brian Pritchard’s team hasn’t won any of their past eight league games away from Wincham Park, a sequence stretching back to the start of October.
They have also one just one of their past nine encounters in the Premier Division.
Alex Titchiner is expected to make his full debut following his return to the club at the start of the week while Danny Andrews, Josh Hancock and Michael Powell – rested for Tuesday’s Doodson Sport League Cup exit against Skelmersdale – should all feature from the start.
Albion can take heart from winning the corresponding fixture at Croft Park last season; their first maximum points haul there in the league from five attempts.
Only Skelmersdale have scored more points on their own pitch this term than Blyth, who have won eight of their past nine games there.
The last team to leave the north east as victors were King’s Lynn in October.
In-form front man Daniel Maguire, on trial currently with Football League club Oldham, has hit the net 11 times in his past nine appearances.
There is a crumb of comfort for Witton; in each of their home games against teams from the table’s bottom half, Spartans – beaten three times by Witton last season – have failed to keep a clean sheet.
