WITTON Albion, without a victory in the Northern Premier League’s Premier Division in half a dozen attempts, have at least avoided defeat in the past two.
Brian Pritchard will again be without banned forward Scott Bakkor, so Chris Simm could lead the attack alone as he did in last Saturday’s goalless stalemate with Frickley.
Anthony Sheehan (knee) and Neville Thompson (ankle) remain on the sidelines.
Albion’s home record on their own pitch against teams from the table’s bottom half is mixed – winning three and losing as many of six matches to date.
Meanwhile this afternoon’s visitors, Stocksbridge, have won only once though in the league at Wincham Park in eight previous visits.
Steels have shut out hosts on one occasion this term, conceding on average three goals a game away from Bracken Moor.
Like Witton, they haven’t won any of their past six league games and have returned home empty-handed from five of their seven road trips to sides in the standings’ lower half.
Full back Ben Turner returned to training this week after a lengthy lay-off through injury, though recent recruit Bradley Grayson will not feature as he is in Australia.
