Match pointers
WITTON, winners in the Doodson Sport League Cup in midweek, hope to end this weekend a five-match sequence without a victory in the Premier Division.

Brian Pritchard’s men have savoured a success away from Wincham Park since beating Worksop Town back in October, a run of half a dozen games.

They have though won at Westfield Lane on two of their past three visits.

Front man Scott Bakkor serves a two-match suspension as punishment for being cautioned 10 times this term, though Chris Simm – who scored his first goal for the club in Tuesday’s 4-1 win at Chorley – is available again.

Cliff Moyo (ankle) limped off against the Magpies, while Josh Crofts missed the contest through illness. Both are doubts.

Hosts Frickley had been unbeaten in six league encounters before losing at Marine last weekend.

They have though avoided defeat in their past five outings on home turf, a sequence that started in November, losing only one of six head-to-heads there against teams from the table’s bottom half.

Joe Wilcox and Matty Bloor return on Saturday after sitting out the trip to Merseyside with bans, while manager Karl Rose will hope to call again on Joe Kenny and Ollie Fearon after they missed that game.
