Match pointers
WITTON will not climb the table if they beat Marine tomorrow, Saturday, though it would put them within a win of the standings’ top half.

Brian Pritchard’s men had lost only one of nine previous matches in the Premier Division before last weekend’s home reverse against Buxton, during which their attack was again shut out.

Front pair Adam Parkhouse and Aaron Rey are still searching for their first goal in Albion colours, and they will have another chance to break that duck with Neville Thompson (ankle) and Kyle Wilson (foot) ruled out with injury.

Marc Joseph is available again after completing a three-match ban.

Witton have one only once in their past seven road trips to play a league game, though their record on Marine’s pitch is a good one with nine wins and three draws from 20 previous visits.

Hosts Marine have failed to win any of their past half dozen league matches, their worst run of results this season.

Phil Brazier’s men have also lost back-to-back games on their on patch, including a 2-1 reverse against Trafford in midweek.

However like Buxton, they are seeking to do the double over Witton after coming from two-goals adrift to win at Wincham Park in August.

Top scorer Andy Fowler is an injury doubt after limping out of Tuesday’s match with a thigh injury, so Jamie Rainford stands by to start.
