Match pointers
WITTON’S first objective will be to end a sequence without scoring that stretches beyond 300 minutes when Matlock Town visit Wincham Park this weekend.

Brian Pritchard’s men have won their past three Premier Division matches on home turf though.

However in five head-to-heads in Northwich against teams from the table’s top half, only one has ended in victory. That was against Ilkeston last time out.

Marc Joseph starts a three-match ban as punishment for his dismissal at King’s Lynn, so Cliff Moyo stands by for a recall. As an alternative, Anthony Gardner could make his first league start since September.

Josh Hancock (calf) and Kyle Wilson (foot) are injury doubts.

Tomorrow’s visitors Matlock have lost on each of their past four visits to play Premier Division games at Wincham Park, failing to score every time.

Meanwhile the Gladiators’ current sequence without a league win stands at four matches as well.

Their defence is solid though, without only two teams – title hopefuls Chorley and AFC Fylde – able to boast of conceding fewer goals so far.

Former Witton goalkeeper Jon Kennedy begins a three-match suspension, so manager Mark Atkins has drafted in ex-England C shot-stopper Jonathan Hedge on a month-long loan.

Joint top scorer Daryll Thomas sat out last Saturday’s draw at home to FC United of Manchester with a thigh injury, so Brad Grayson could again partner Danny Holland in attack.
