WITTON Albion were 3-2 victors at the New Manor Ground in the corresponding fixture last season, a result they would love to repeat this weekend.
A midweek defeat at FC United of Manchester was their fourth in six Premier Division matches to date, leaving them playing catch-up even at an early stage of the season.
Manager Brian Pritchard will be forced to make at least one change to the team that started at Gigg Lane, with defender Anthony Gardner set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after breaking his ankle.
Albion’s other full back, Cliff Moyo, is a doubt after straining a hamstring on Tuesday. Josh Glover is hoping to return though after sitting out the past three games with injury.
A clutch of first team players, including Anthony Sheehan and Neville Thompson, played in Witton reserves’ comfortable 8-1 win against Bootle on Thursday.
Ilkeston are in fine form, winning four matches to occupy third place in the table.
Left back Ryan Wilson is absent this weekend though after injuring his knee in last weekend’s win at Stafford Rangers, so Chris Palmer stands by.
Manager Kevin Wilson will pick between Aaron Hotton and Antwan Russell to partner Gary Ricketts in attack.
The Robins have picked up 13 points from six games, a tally it took 15 matches – and the middle of November – to reach last season.
They play to the finish too, scoring in stoppage time in each of their past three league games.
