WITTON must wait to find out who will provide the opposition in the Doodson Sport Cup last 16.

Brian Pritchard’s men, conquerors of Premier Division rivals AFC Fylde in midweek, have been paired with Ashton United or FC United of Manchester at the next stage.

Those two are scheduled to play their third round encounter next Wednesday, kick off 7.45pm.

Albion, who have never contested the final of the Northern Premier League’s cup competition, bowed out at the quarter finals stage last term after losing at Kendal.

They eased past Fylde on Tuesday when goals from Joe Shaw, his first for the club, and a brace of penalties from Anthony Gardner secured a 3-1 victory.

The fourth round ties take place at the month’s end.
