Witton Albion 6 Lincoln United 0

LINCOLN will be sick of the sight of Wincham Park.

The Whites were washed away by rampant Witton, sinking to a 6-0 reverse that repeated last season's score.

Albion also sailed 10 points clear.

Adam Warlow helped himself to a fifth hat-trick of the campaign as normal service was resumed following Easter Monday's horror show against Fleetwood.

His tally now stands at 27 for the season.

Lincoln produced the first shot on goal when Jon Kennedy got across well to push Steve Woolley's effort around the post.

They rarely threatened after that.

On the quarter hour Warlow headed Mark Peers' corner against the bar and Andy Potter cleared off the line from Brian Pritchard's follow-up effort.

The basement side's experienced striker Leon Wainman wasted an opportunity to put the visitors ahead on 24 minutes when a wayward clearance by Kennedy fell straight at the forward's feet but he shot well wide of the yawning goal.

Albion were ahead two minutes later.

Dave MacPherson's perseverance saw the ball arrive with Peers and the winger sent in a cross that was met at the far post by debutant Junior Brown.

The leaders doubled their tally soon after the interval when Rod Thornley's initial effort was only parried by keeper Liam Walker to the waiting Warlow and he ended his seven-match goalless streak with no little glee.

Warlow then turned provider on 66 minutes, picking out Peers for an imperious finish from just inside the penalty area.

The Whites raised a similar coloured flag after that.

MacPherson, relishing the worsening conditions, was again the provider on 74 minutes when Warlow planted the ball past Walker.

The league's top scorer completed his treble when again winning a one-on-one contest against the keeper.

Pritchard crowned Albion's day, heading home sub Steve Brodie's centre to notch Witton's half century of home league goals this season, their 100th of the campaign.
