WITH a much changed line-up, Witton progressed to the second round of the Integro League Cup on Tuesday night.
A belting free-kick strike from Paul Williams, one of five changes in the starting team, in the 56th minute doubled Albion's lead, with Tom Owens' effort six minutes from time sealing matters.
Nick Ryan opened the scoring from long range in a first half during which Cesaire Lingouba's effort hit a post and Steven Tames had a header cleared off the line.
The closest Boro came was when skipper Carl Peers volleyed wide shortly after the break, while Ben Jago headed narrowly wide moments before Ryan struck.
