FOOTBALLERS’ fitness was tested at a Northwich gym yesterday, Thursday.
Witton Albion’s first team players, who started preparations for the forthcoming season last month, were put through their paces at the Works Gym, in Winnington.
General manager Kevin Whitehead, once on the books himself as a goalkeeper at Wincham Park, fronted a session designed to improve the squad’s fitness before their first friendly next week.
“It went really well,” said manager Brian Pritchard.
“I thought the lads might hate me for arranging it, but Kevin was great with them and they loved it in the end.
“It’s something I’d like to look at doing again.”
The Works, on Winnington Hall Mews, opened earlier this year.
