Witton Albion announce small increase in match day prices for new season

WITTON will ask adults to pay more to watch a match next season for the first time in three years.

The club has confirmed that admission will rise to £9, an increase of 50p, following promotion back to the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League’s top tier.

Entry for concessions is more too, set at £6.

“We’ve resisted making a change for the past couple of seasons,” said chairman Ian Dobson.

“But with fuel prices in particular going up so sharply, our transport costs next season will be significantly higher. It leaves us with no choice.

“However we have done research to make sure our prices are in line with the majority of clubs in the division.”

Witton will work hard to attract new supporters too, with initiatives planned for schools and other community groups during the course of the campaign.

Dobson added: “League rules permit three days in a season when we can offer promotional prices, so we’re looking already at how best to make the most of being the highest-ranked team in the town.”

Albion say season tickets, priced at £165 for adults (less than £8 a game) and £110 for pensioners and also U14s, have sold well since the end of last term.
