Match pointers
WITTON Albion seek to move closer to the Evo-Stik NPL Division One North summit at mid-table Ossett Town tomorrow, Saturday.

Brian Pritchard’s men extended their unbeaten run on the road to eight matches in last week’s six-goals success at Bamber Bridge, a sequence stretching back to November.

However a midweek Mid Cheshire FA Senior Cup exit at the hands of minnows Middlewich Town did not impress the manager.

Top scorer Alex Titchiner is one goal short of 30 for the season, but strike partner Liam Newman is ruled out with a hamstring injury picked up on Tuesday.

Ashley Stott is likely to partner Titchiner in attack.

Only leading pair Curzon Ashton and AFC Fylde have conceded fewer goals than Ossett in front of their own fans to date this term.

However Town’s attack, with 16 goals from as many matches so far, has the lowest tally.

Eric Gilchrist’s team has held both Curzon and Fylde on their own pitch in the past month, but they did lose 2-0 at home to Salford City in midweek.
