THE town’s senior football teams must wait a little longer to return to action after their scheduled matches this weekend were postponed earlier today, Friday.
Northwich Victoria had asked Cheshire neighbours Nantwich for a favour in hosting their Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division encounter against Bradford Park Avenue, but the Dabbers’ playing surface is frozen.
New manager Paul Simpson, still to see his team play since taking over on February 1, is hoping to have better luck when Hampton & Richmond Borough visit south Cheshire in the FA Trophy’s third round on Tuesday.
Witton were due at struggling Radcliffe in Division One North but Boro’s Stainton Park pitch still has a covering of snow on it, leading to that contest being called off this morning.
Brian Pritchard’s men have now suffered four successive postponements since beating Ossett Albion 4-0 at the end of last month, extending their sequence of successive wins in all competitions to five matches.
They are due at Kendal Town for a rearranged Doodson Sport Cup quarter final on Wednesday, kick off 7.45pm.
