WARRINGTON Town became the first visiting team to leave Wincham Park as victors this season when they progressed to the Cheshire FA Senior Cup last four on Tuesday.

Yellows had to come from behind to beat a much-changed Witton Albion side that included only two regular starters – Paul Williams and Michael Wilson – and six teenagers.

One of those youngsters, James Sloane, put Carl Macauley’s men in front on 18 minutes.

It is the striker’s second goal for the club since switching from AFC Fylde at the turn of the year.

However the visitors turned around the contest when they scored twice in a four-minute spell, drawing level when Daniel Hattersley found the net.

Fellow attacker Ruben Jerome then made it 2-1.

The home team withdrew Williams early in the second period, during which they also granted Matty Devine a half-hour cameo as a substitute as he continues to recover from an ankle injury.

However he could not prevent Warrington from settling the outcome when a replacement of their own, Ciaran Kilheeney, scored on 68 minutes.
