MATTY Devine may sit out tomorrow night’s trip to Kidsgrove after suffering a recurrence of an old ankle injury, according to Albion boss Carl Macauley.
The full-back left the field early in the second half of Saturday’s win at Basford.
“We’re not sure how bad it is yet,” said Macauley.
“It looks like the same problem that he’s had previously, which he picked up in the Trophy game at Chester.”
Devine, 23, has been one of Witton’s outstanding performers this season after switching from Burscough in the summer.
Prince Haywood filled in for him for the remainder a 2-1 success at the weekend, while substitute Ryan Hickman played on the right of midfield.
Brad Bauress could also cover for Devine, who was at Wincham Park on Monday for treatment, if he misses out.
Macauley confirmed that defender Michael Wilson is again unavailable for a meeting with Kidsgrove – hosts Witton had been due to visit at the end of December.
However that game was postponed following an afternoon pitch inspection.
He can call on one new recruit though after borrowing attacker Danny Reynolds from AFC Telford United for a month.
Another signing could follow should Albion receive international clearance in time for him to feature.
