WITTON Albion’s date with Kidsgrove Athletic in the Northern Premier League’s Division One South, scheduled for tonight, has been postponed.
The playing surface at the hosts’ Novus Stadium failed an afternoon inspection despite officials’ best efforts to get it ready.
A drop in temperatures has prompted five of the six fixtures on today’s calendar – at Carlton, Chasetown, Lincoln, Newcastle and Kidsgrove – to be called off.
Carl Macauley’s side, who have completed played only 14 league matches to date, will return to action at Market Drayton on Monday, kick off 3pm.
Their tenants, Northwich Victoria, are due at Romulus tomorrow night.
