HE has scored 86 times in his 250 games for Witton Albion to date, so the Guardian had plenty to ponder when picking our favourites.
What do you think of our sports writer Andrew Simpson’s choices?
Has he missed out one you remember more fondly?

Northern Premier League Division One North
AFC Fylde 3 Witton Albion 1
Trailing 1-0 on the Fylde coast, Albion restored parity shortly before the break in style.
After Mark Buchan had taken the ball into the home team’s half, he was tackled hard by a defender.
The ball looped into the air and, as it dropped, Andrews’ perfect connection on the volley sent it scorching into the top corner of the net.

Witton Albion 4 Whitby Town 2
After twice being pegged back by visitors Whitby, Witton took the lead for a third time with a fine team goal.
Matthew Cross switched play from right to left to Mathew Wood, who in turn found Steve Foster.
The on-loan front man improvised, flicking the ball with his heel into Andrews’ path and his determination to reach it first was rewarded with a thumping finish.

Witton Albion 1 Barwell 2
When Andrews delivered the game’s greatest moment of quality shortly after the half hour, Albion had reason to be optimistic.
Drifting in from the right flank to pick up possession centrally 30 yards from goal, he scorched a rising shot into the top corner of Liam Castle’s goal before the Barwell net-minder could even blink.

FA Trophy First Qualifying Round replay
Witton Albion 2 FC United of Manchester 1
IT was perhaps not an ending that reflected the plot played out on the pitch, yet a swish of Danny Andrews’ left boot settled a story started two weeks earlier.
After drifting inside from the right touchline, he curved a shot out of former Witton goalkeeper Jon Worsnop’s reach to settle the outcome at Wincham Park with three minutes left.

Witton Albion 4 Stocksbridge Park Steels 1
Andrews had already stroked in Albion’s third goal before adding gloss.
Saving the best until last, he arced a perfectly-placed shot out of Steels’ goalkeeper Jack Ward’s reach after dribbling directly at the visitors’ defence – ducking one way, then back again – in a central position.
One final step-over was followed by a flawlessly-executed finish.

Witton Albion 1 Curzon Ashton 3
After Neil Harvey wriggled cleverly clear of Curzon back-marker Jonathan Hunt on the left, he steered a pass towards Andrews.
The winger twisted to connect with a ball that appeared to be beyond him, swerving his shot into the top corner to make it 1-1.

FA Trophy Second Qualifying Round
Witton Albion 3 Workington 3
Andrews speared in a stunning strike from distance – the best, and final, goal of an utterly absorbing contest – by way of reply on 74 minutes after the visitors had overturned a 2-1 deficit.
It earned his side a deserved replay.

Northern Premier League Premier Division
Witton Albion 1 Buxton 1
Andrews’ brilliant equaliser, which cancelled out Ash Palmer’s goal before the break, gave Witton an incentive to fight for a draw against title-chasing Buxton.
Momentum was with Witton when they levelled on 55 minutes, the wide man driving an unstoppable shot into the top corner after Luke Clark had nudged a short corner into his path.

Northern Premier League Premier Division
Ashton United 2 Witton Albion 1
April had been awful for Albion; this was a fourth defeat in five league matches, a sequence in which they scored just twice while conceding 13 times.
Yet one of those goals, a stunning strike by Andrews in the second minute, looked like it might by the most important of all during the first half.
After Alex Titchiner and Josh Hancock had combined, he caressed a perfectly-weighted shot into the top corner from 25 yards.

Northern Premier League Division One North
Witton Albion 3 Glossop North End 0
Witton took the lead on 36 minutes, when Andrews arced a free kick into the top corner from 20 yards after Glossop captain Kieran Lugsden had tripped Tom Schofield.
Here’s hoping the 29-year-old adds a few more to that tally between now and the end of the campaign.
