Match pointers
WITTON Albion’s task at Grantham Town tomorrow, Saturday, is to recover from their biggest league defeat of the season at King’s Lynn Town last weekend.

A 3-0 defeat, ending a six-match unbeaten sequence in the Premier Division, was the largest since losing by the same score at Marine in February.

Anthony Sheehan (knee) is ruled out indefinitely while he waits for a scan, while top scorer Josh Hancock and front man Kyle Wilson are doubts with both nursing calf injuries.

Adam Parkhouse could start in Albion’s attack following a loan switch from higher-ranked Stalybridge Celtic.

Brian Pritchard’s men have won only one of their past half dozen league encounters away from Wincham Park, though Grantham has been a happy hunting ground previously; Albion have only lost once in the Northern Premier League in nine previous visits to play the Gingerbreads.

Grantham will be without 15-goal top scorer Gregg Smith as he starts a two-match suspension, so joint bosses Gary Sucharewycz and Ian Robinson may shuffle the pack.

They plan to wait for midfielder Michael Towey to prove his fitness after the former Buxton man tweaked a hamstring, while central defender Kern Miller is available again after injury.

The Gingerbreads have won both games on their own pitch to date against teams from the table’s bottom half, though they have not beaten Witton there in a league encounter since March 1984.
