TEENAGER Will Morrillo scored a try on his senior debut as Winnington Park cruised to an eighth successive league win.

After making his first appearance for Cheshire’s under 18s the previous weekend, the Sir John Deane’s College student was one of several players given an opportunity to impress Matt Farr.

“Hopefully that gives him the belief he has the skill to play at this level,” said the head coach afterwards.

“We’re trying to develop young players so they can step up and represent the first-team, and I had confidence that we could make changes to give other guys a chance.”

Park had secured a bonus-point by the break, and Harry Stubbs’ try inside 60 seconds set them on a course to victory.

Cameron Flanagan converted.

Oldershaw, beaten in all of their previous games this season, kept out their guests for the next 20 minutes.

That was until Danny Williams’ break started a sequence that ended with wing Jamie Pugh dotting down between the posts.

Flanagan improved on the youngster’s score.

A third try followed after the home team’s fly-half spilled the ball on halfway, and Williams fed Gary Dykes.

His pass invited Stubbs to sprint the rest of the way to the line, and Flanagan added the extras.

Morrillo was involved in a move that led to Winnington’s next try, setting up a ruck before Lee Allmark crossed the whitewash.

Flanagan remained reliable with the boot.

Farr shuffled his pack after the interval, sending on Mike Eaves to bolster the front-row after a lengthy lay-off.

James Johnson picked up the ball from the back of a scrum to run in Park’s fifth try before Morrillo’s moment arrived.

Fellow centre Ryan Williams made an initial forward burst before releasing the colt who charged to the line.

Flanagan duly converted both tries.

The visitors completed the scoring with five minutes left when Pugh made progress down the flank from halfway before leaping clear of the last attempt tackle.

Flanagan completed a flawless afternoon with a seventh conversion.
