WINNINGTON Park ended a wait to beat neighbours Northwich in a league encounter on Saturday.

A penalty try in the final minute of injury time, after Blacks had edged ahead at 16-15 thanks to replacement Tom Bell’s penalty, settled the outcome the Burrows Hill outfit’s way.

James Moran and Danny Williams touched down for Roger Pickering’s men in the first half, either side of Chris Dale’s reply for Northwich.

Chris James crossed the whitewash for the hosts after the interval.

Park had lost five of the previous six league meetings between the clubs, drawing the first one back in 2007.
