NORTHWICH Victoria are closing in on a record crowd figure after selling out the main stand for Saturday’s FA Cup second round date with Lincoln City.
Fans can now only buy tickets for the Dane Bank terrace or, alternatively, behind either goal at the Victoria Stadium for the visit of the Imps.
The club plan to continue selling tickets up until the 12.30pm kick off.
More than 2,000 people have watched each of their previous two victories in the competition – against Charlton Athletic and FC United of Manchester respectively – both short of the stadium record of 3,154 set in April 2006 for the visit of Stafford Rangers.
“I hope that people who weren’t there to be part of the party against Charlton are tempted to come down this weekend,” said owner Jim Rushe earlier this week.
“I know the players will appreciate it and the extra vocal support will spur them on.”
Visitors Lincoln report that they have sold around 500 tickets from their initial allocation after offering Imps fans free bus travel to Northwich.
They have filled seven coaches so far.
The office at the Victoria Stadium opens from 10am tomorrow, Friday, and at the same time on match day.
Adults pay £12 to stand, while concessions passes are £10.
Admission for U16s is £5, £2 for U12s.
