Vics 0 Exeter 0: LIVE

ALL the action from what could be Vics last match in the Blue Square Premier:

90 mins: Brown performs a miracle to block Taylor's header on the line. The scoreline remains blank.

85 mins: The stage is set for a fairytale finish, but Vics need to find inspiration from somewhere.

80 mins: Both sides pick up a booking. Townson's tackle on Bertie Cozic is late and mistimed, much as Matt Taylor's lunge on Michael Carr is.

75 mins: The two teams trade one chance each. Stansfield shoots straight at Tynan after skipping into a shooting space, while at the other end Brad Maylett, on for Danny Williams, fires straight at Marriott from just outside the box.

Exeter introduce Wayne Carlisle for Lee Elam, whose exit is greeted by boos from the Danebank.

70 mins: Friend forces Scott Tynan to make his first real save low to his right after Mackie scythed through the right hand side of the defence.

65 mins: Little has happened since Steele's miss, but with Brad Maylett, Paul Tait and Chris Coward all warming up, Maamria is pondering a change.

60 mins: Lee Steele blazes over when clear after pouncing on Matt Taylor's weak header.

Paul Tisdale makes the game's first substitution, introducing Jamie Mackie for Dean Moxey.

55 mins: The Grecians spurn the game's clearest opportunity.

Matt Gill picks a Vics pocket in midfield and sends Elam clear down the right.

His cross finds Adam Stansfield who, with the goal at his mercy, fires straight at the grateful Josh Wilson on the goalline.

50 mins: No change in the pattern with neither team in the ascendancy.

Exeter have started with more purpose although in truth there was far more room for improvement in their lacklustre performance.

HALF TIME: No score, no real threat of a score to be honest.

No lack of effort from the home team but, as has been the case all season, they don't have the creative ingenuity to open up Exeter.

The visitors have been a disappointment, much in the same way as they were upon their visit to Wincham last season.

40 mins: Still a minimum of goalmouth action. Exeter have offered very little going forward, but Vics have lacked the guile to open up the visitors' defence.

35 mins: Townson curves a 20-yard shot just past the post after making a yard of space on the edge of the box.

30 mins: Greg Strong diverts George Friend's cross over after the full back made room for a cross on the left.

Before that Lee Elam kicks Ryan Brown into the air with a poor late lunge, earning the first yellow card of the game.

25 mins: It's subdued out on the pitch, almost the air of a friendly about it.

Vics temporary boss Dino Maamria has yet to sit down, kicking and heading every ball with his players.

20 mins: Neither side is still yet assuming command of the game, particularly in the centre of the pitch.

Exeter boss Paul Tisdale, impeccably turned out as usual, is up on his feet for the first time. Less of a tecnical area, more of a catwalk for the visitors' manager.

15 mins: Both sides come close to an opener.

Chris Williams' deep cross is volleyed back across goal by namesake Danny, but Lee Steele misses contact by inches.

At the other end, Dean Moxey's centre is spectacularly headed over by Lee Elam.

10 mins: Not much is happening on the pitch, with both sides swapping possession all too easily.

Off it, chants of 'Northwich 'til I die' are spurring those in green on.

5 mins: Vics, buoyed on by a vocal Danebank, cut open the Grecians but debutant Danny Williams' cross is gobbled up by Andy Marriott.

5.20pm: THE game kicks off late, but the Danebank is in great voice on what could be a momentous afternoon.

Interesting that Dino Maamria has taken Ben Connett out of the firing line, preferring new boy Scott Tynan between the posts.
