Match Pointers
NORTHWICH Victoria may welcome back captain Simon Grand for the trip to Redditch United tonight, Tuesday.

He sat out Saturday’s draw at Hinckley United through suspension.

Andy Preece has a selection dilemma in midfield with Ian Herring pushing for a recall, while top scorer Mark Danks continues to wait for his chance to return up front.

Curtis Aspden is likely to keep his place between the posts after making a string of saves to keep out the Knitters during the second half at the weekend.

Vics extended their unbeaten run on the road to eight matches – stretching back to September 5 – following Saturday’s 1-1 draw.

Hosts Redditch are a single point behind Northwich in the Blue Square North standings after keeping back-to-back clean sheets.

They have lost only one of their past six matches at home.

Experienced defender Jerry Gill and rising star Jamie Sheldon have both left in the past week, but former King’s Lynn boss Carl Heggs is back on board as a player.

Jozsef Jakab netted a hat-trick on his debut at Vauxhall Motors last month, while youth team product Dan Carter scored his first senior goal in the same game.
