RUDHEATH High School reached the next stage of a national boccia competition after beating rivals in the Cheshire & Warrington School Sport Alliance in a qualifier.
Vale Royal School Sport Partnership (VRSSP) played host to the tournament, at St Nicholas RC High School, from which the Northwich team emerged as victors in the secondary schools category.
More than 100 pupils took part across two age groups, representing 31 teams.
There was success too for Barnton’s Rosebank School, who won a first ever trophy after finishing first in the primary schools final.
Now they need somewhere to show off their silverware.
“They’d love a cabinet to keep it in,” said Chris Story, development manager for VRSSP.
“Now the school has its first trophy, they have the thirst to win more.”
If anybody would like to donate a cabinet, then call sports writer Andrew Simpson on 01606 813618.
