GREAT Britain’s men’s four, including Northwich rower Matthew Langridge, stormed to victory in Sunday’s World Cup regatta final in Switzerland.

The quartet, in a similar story to yesterday’s semi finals, led from start to finish in Lucerne to send out a message to their rivals ahead of next month’s World Championships.

Greece, who defeated Langridge’s crew in New Zealand last year, finished second while USA won a bronze medal.

But the British four, including Knutsford’s Richard Egington, Tom James and Alex Gregory along with 28-year-old Langridge, proved too strong for them.

They reached the finish line in 5:53.84, a length ahead of their closest challengers.

More to follow.
