Winnington Park Ladies 2nd 4-1 Oxton Ladies 3rd
OLIVIA Jones celebrated her birthday by scoring a goal that helped Winnington Park Ladies’ seconds to secure promotion last weekend.
It means her side will return to the Cheshire League’s third tier from next season – a level they dropped down from two years ago.
The youngster settled the nerves in the Northwich team’s ranks when she converted Liv Moynihan’s cross.
Park settled in the second-half, adding three goals to their total.
Nat Ofoche claimed two of those, while player of the match Vicky Curran was on target too at Sir John Deane’s College as the hosts produced their best hockey of the campaign.
They trail leaders Deeside thirds by three points in the Division Four table with two matches left.
Warrington Ladies 0-6 Winnington Park Ladies
WINNINGTON Park continued a stirring finish to the Cheshire League campaign when they recorded a fourth successive victory on Saturday.
Harriet Hill’s goal established an early lead against depleted opponents before a hat-trick from Jaz Barlow – along with Jen Young’s double – put the visitors in complete control.
The latter finished spectacularly, with rising shots into the roof of the net, on both occasions.
It keeps them on course to finish in third place ahead of a visit from Division One leaders Alderley Edge this weekend.
