IT was a mixed weekend for Winnington Park.
Park’s ladies first team suffered a 4-3 home defeat by Oxton – with their undefeated run coming to an end after a highly-competitive game.
Park took the lead when Rhona Logie converted an early chance.
They rapidly furthered their lead when Jaz Barlow grabbed a second.
Park looked confident in possession, with Jacs Gape controlling much of the play, and reached the break with a two-goal cushion.
Oxton altered their tactics though, and were quickly rewarded with the first of their four second half goals.
Their playmaker altered her position throughout the second half which left the Park defence a little confused as to whose responsibility she was.
Keeper Helen Hogben could do nothing to stop their fourth goal when it took a nasty deflection of a Park stick.
Park got a third from Logie, but couldn’t get the same control that they had in the first half.
Crewe Vagrants Ladies 3rd 0-4 Winnington Park Ladies 2nd
PARK maintained their undefeated run with a 4-0 win.
Liv Moynihan was awesome as right striker; her pace left the Crewe defence wanting as she drove down the wing and delivered precision crosses time and again.
Moynihan and Katie Beasley shared the goals.
Park’s firsts are at Alderley Edge 3rds on Saturday, push-back 3pm.
