STUART Kellett reached the last 16 of a Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) ProTour tournament for the second time this year on Saturday.
The Northwich thrower collected £1,500 as a reward for his run at Players’ Championship 13 in Wigan, where he went down 6-3 to Premier League star Kim Huybrechts.
However the Belgian was whitewashed by two-time world champion Gary Anderson in the quarter finals.
Kellett had started his campaign with a 6-4 win against Martin Schindler, who represented Germany at the World Cup of Darts earlier this month.
He followed that by beating Aussie Kyle Anderson by the same score in the second round, then despatched former MDA Promotions stablemate Wes Newton (6-2) at the next stage.
Huybrechts proved too strong, as he had been during a UK Open qualifier in February, when they met in the last 16.
Proud of myself today. Wasn't pretty but threw some good darts at the right time. Hopefully more 2moro 😊

On Sunday, Kellett lost a deciding leg in a Players’ Championship 14 first-round encounter with world number six Dave Chisnall.
He has banked £5,750 from 11 tournaments to date, leaving him just outside a cut-off for a 64-strong field at the finals in November.
However with eight dates remaining, he is in the running to be on stage at Minehead.
