CRAIG Bourne secured a victory for Castle B in style, making a maximum break in a deciding frame of their meeting with Nectar’s in the Northwich and District League’s top-flight.
The visitors had trailed 2-0.
Leaders Gladstone C, boosted earlier by Nick Hubert’s 8-ball clearance, were grateful to Michael Holness for taking a decisive seventh leg against clubmates Gladstone A.
The champions are remain eight points clear of closest-rivals Castle D, who squeezed past Gladstone B.
A third Division One player, Castle A’s Chris Cain, hit a maximum during his side’s slender success against Green Dragon A the same evening.
Barn Owl E climb to second spot in Division Two following a 5-2 win against Barn Owl B.
They displace Lion B, who lost a nail-biter at Greenbank C after Michael Dale claimed the final frame.
Witton Chimes A continue to lead the way, and enjoy a nine-point advantage after returning from Iron Bridge as 5-2 victors.
At the bottom, Gladstone D boosted their survival hopes following a narrow 4-3 win away to Lion A.
Barn Owl A widened a gap to the chasing pack in Division Three following a 5-2 victory against Barn Owl H.
Second-placed Wheatsheaf went down at Blue Barrel A, who close to within a point of a promotion position, to leave them 15 points adrift.
Witton Chimes B saw off Blue Barrel B, while Green Dragon B lost the first four frames in a 5-2 home reverse against Broken Cross.
