HARTFORD School of Gymnastics can add another name to a long list of members who have claimed a county title.

Ella Gaskill’s points total was the highest in her category at the Cheshire and Merseyside Four Piece Championships in Liverpool.

The 11-year-old, competing at level six, scored highest on uneven bars.

Third place on vault and floor left her top of the overall standings.

“They were a great set of results from brilliant routines,” said coach Michelle Oakes.

Ella’s sister, Rea, was second on both bars and floor to classify fourth.

Fifth position went to Bethany Egerton, who ended up inside the top four on three pieces of apparatus.

Meanwhile another Hartford athlete, debutant Taylor Jackson, was seventh.

Teammates Katie Ridge, Mollie Stamper-Clark and Molly Seddon also took part in a four-piece championship for the first time, with the latter – who had no previous experience of a women’s artistic competition – ranking sixth on bars and inside the top 10 on floor.

Rhea Carless showcased new skills at level five, achieving all of her personal goals.

Oakes added: “It was a great to see a podium full of Hartford gymnasts.

“The girls proved they are ones to keep an eye on in the future – they demonstrated technical skill as well as a lot of enthusiasm and determination to do their best.”
