AS Wimbledon draws to a close this weekend, so too does the latest South and Mid Cheshire Summer League season.
Teams representing Hartford Tennis Club will occupy the table’s bottom four places in the men’s top flight, leaving Nantwich A and reigning champions Congleton A to fight for the title.
Hartford A lost 6-2 at Congleton A on Thursday, when Jarrod Wood, Fraser Lindsay, James Barlow and Mark Gleave made up their quartet.
It is a happier story in the ladies’ Division One, where Hartford A are tied on points with Nantwich B in a battle for second spot following a 7-1 win against their rivals last week.
Hartford B lost at Nantwich A, but should be safe, while Hartford C are likely to be relegated despite recording a 5½-2½ victory against Cuddington A on Thursday.
The penultimate round of matches take place this week.
