VALE Royal Athletics Club youngsters tested themselves against high-quality opposition during the latest British Milers’ Club Grand Prix on Saturday.
Jacob Brown continues to improve, narrowly missing out on a personal best after timing 1.55.32 in a men’s 800m race at Watford.
The 18-year-old had ran 1.58.25 in his season opener the previous week.
Cameron Weaver dipped under four minutes for the first time in a 1,500m race at the same meeting, clocking 3.58.05.
He was ninth on track as part of a field in which he was the youngest runner.
Josh Betteley, 17, timed 4.05.40 in the same race.
Meanwhile Amy Hinchly ran a season-best 4.29.45 during a women’s 1,500m race in which she finished fifth.
