LEOPARDS lead the way in a race to the Mid Cheshire Super League title, but Victoria remain in pursuit after the rivals both recorded whitewash wins.

The defending champions, thanks to maximums for Winston Duff, Steve Stockton and Andy Town, proved too strong for Raptors.

Their feat was matched by Keith Mitchell, Pete Morley and Martin Thomson for the Holmes Chapel outfit, who hammered Cobras.

Tigers lost both matches in a double-header, with Mark Trett’s double the solitary highlight of an 8-2 defeat against visitors Team Hut.

Charlie Ostapski returned an unblemished card for the victors.

Craig Lee won each of his singles matches for Tigers against Sparks, but braces for Peter Davies, Dave Southall and Ray Worthington settled the outcome in their opponents’ favour.

Crusaders occupy top spot in Division Two, for now, following a slender success against Wolves.

Steve Peach was unbeaten for the pacesetters, whose lead over Blades is worth nine points.
The second-placed side were forced to share the spoils with Winsford Locke, for whom Mark Baker won all three singles rubbers, following a 5-5 draw.

Adam Ryder and Jake Styles claimed two apiece for Blades, who are scheduled to play Crusaders in the final round.

Third-placed Lemmings gained ground with a win over Hawks.

Star turn Dave Etchells went unbeaten for another week, and teammate Gail Johns added two wins.

Hawks’ Matt Lafferty did the same to help his team to fourth in the table.
In Division Three, Bears closed a gap to top spot with a 9-1 success against Snakes.

Captain Paul Curley and Andy Edwards both won three singles matches, but Andy Beswick denied the title-hopefuls – six points behind Rangers with a game in hand - a whitewash.

The leaders saw off Falcons, with Andy Woodyatt unbeaten, while Vikings beat Kinetics 7-3 to hold station in third.

John Roberts’ hat-trick of wins was a highlight for the victors.
