CASTLE Private A captured the Northwich and District League’s Supplementary Shield for the first time after defeating top-flight rivals Rudheath in the final on Wednesday.
Undaunted by losing both Division One meetings this season, they raced into a 3-0 lead before Kevin Barry pulled a frame back.
However Aaron Leather settled the outcome by taking the next one to secure victory for Dave Cain’s side.
Greenbank A will be promoted as Division Two champions despite losing a rearranged encounter with Owley Wood the same evening.
That means season-long rivals Nectar’s will finish in second spot.
In Division One, Gladstone B brought an end to their campaign by recovering from 3-2 down to beat Green Dragon A.
Dave Swindley takes the plaudits after winning a decider.
