Windermere 1 Winnington Park 5

WINNINGTON reached the table's top half for the first time this season after recording a fourth successive win on Saturday.

Their latest victory, achieved with the assistance of Pete Evans' hat-trick, was arguably their most impressive - against opponents hoping to challenge for promotion and with a formidable home record.

However their guests scored first, Evans steering into an empty goal after Daniel Hancock sent a cross his way.

A second followed swiftly, this time after Hancock's speedy run on the counter-attack was cut short by a foul.

Evans coolly converted the resulting penalty stroke.

Windermere halved their arrears from a penalty corner at the start of the second period, but Park did not crumble.

Instead they went on the attack, earning the reward of a thirds goal when Hancock latched onto a lofted pass before squaring for Mike Dodd to apply a finishing touch at the far post.

The Cumbrians lost their composure, and had players sent to the sin bin.

While depleted, Winnington increased their lead when Hancock claimed the goal his fine individual performance merited.

And in-form Evans added gloss late on, completing a personal treble after a rebound from Paul Stackhouse's shot rolled into his path.

This is now Park's best run of results in the North Men's League since March 2010, leaving them sixth in Division Two West.

Leaders Alderley Edge seconds are due next at Sir John Deane's College on Saturday, push back 1pm.
