GLADSTONE B avoided an upset in the Northwich and District League Team Knockout, easing past Division Two leaders Greenbank A to reach the quarter finals.

The rivals had met in the Supplementary Shield final last season with the same outcome.

Top-flight title favourites Gladstone C remain on course for a double after beating Nectar’s, boosted by Lewis Webber’s maximum break.

Gladstone A proved too strong for underdogs Barn Owl A, restricting the Division Three side to a single frame, while Barn Owl C – bottom of the Division One table – surprised Barn Owl D to progress to the next stage.

Green Dragon B pushed league rivals Witton Chimes B before bowing out 4-3 after Mike Baddeley won a final-frame decider.

Lion B cruised to victory at Barn Owl H, while Moulton Legion complete the last eight line-up after eliminating Greenbank B.

Salt Barge were the star turns in the Supplementary Shield after whitewashing higher-ranked Witton Chimes A.

Owley Wood also disposed of opponents from a level above, ending Green Dragon A’s involvement.

Rudheath survived a scare, recovering from 3-1 down to beat Greenbank C after David Hartt kept calm to win a decisive seventh frame.

Blue Barrel B, yet to record a victory in Division Three, let slip a 3-2 lead against Lion A.

Castle Private A, conquerors of Castle Private C, and in-form Barn Owl B secured a quarter-finals place along with Iron Bridge, who squeezed past Barn Owl E.
