CYCLING: Kemp claims third
WEAVER Valley’s Alan Kemp took third place in the latest Audlem Road Race Series event.
Kemp and five others attempted to chase down breakaway pair Dave Cumming and Nick Giles with the Weaver Valley man holding third.
Ewart Howkins finished in the main bunch.
World masters track champion Lee Suthard posted a course record 21.25 to win in the Guardian Cup 10 mile TT The Manchester and District 100 mile TT, doubling as a Weaver Valley CC championship, saw Iain Young, in his first 100 mile race, post 4:17.18 to come 12th, with Alistair Stanway clocking 4:28.59.
