ALISTAIR Stanway was the fastest of Weaver Valley Cycling Club’s six-strong contingent during Saturday’s Withington Wheelers 25.
He clocked 59:07 to finish inside the top 20, followed by Jim Duffy in 25th after he set a personal best of 59:51.
Dave Fearon, riding a fixed gear, was close behind after also completing the distance in under an hour.
Together they earned second spot for Weaver Valley in the team competition.
Bill Campbell, in 1:03.07, Alan Shuttleworth in 1:11.58 and Caroline Fearon, in 1:14.42, fared well in their respective age categories.
At the front, Dave Crawley (Fibrax-Wrexham RC) won in 52:37.
